The Day We Hoaxed Football365

The Day We hoaxed Football 365 One of the greatest footballing pranks ever pulled was executed to perfection by unemployed labourer Carl Power on Wednesday 18th April when he stole onto the pitch in Germany and was featured in the Manchester United team photo before their crucial Champions League encounter against Bayern Munich. The next day, every major UK media source tried desperately to uncover the identity of the imposter who had scarpered immediately after his incredible scam. Football365, arguably the most influential national football website finally trumped its rivals with an exclusive unveiling of the lovable rogue. Lo and behold, Roddy Burns, goalkeeper and webmaster of South London Tangerines, was the culprit. It turned out that Roddy, despite being from Monifieth and a devout Arab, was both a cousin of the Nevilles' and an "avid" and "well-known" United fan. For several hours during the afternoon of Thursday 19th April, football supporters up and down the country were left stunned by this revelation until finally, and far too late, Football365 realised that they, in uncovering the scam, had themselves fallen victim to another. As Ralph said after Dobbie's own goal, "there's not much more to say".
